What data we hold and where it comes from
- What you give us in our forms: name, email, institution, country, research interests, what you are looking for and what you can offer, and optionally a phone number.
- Professional data from public sources: name, institutional email address, affiliation and publications, taken from bibliographic databases such as Scopus and from institutional websites. We use them only to contact you in your professional capacity about a possible research collaboration.
- Correspondence you exchange with us by email.
What we use it for
To identify possible research collaborations, to contact you about them, and, if you agree, to introduce you to another researcher. We also use it to run the services you ask us for.
Legal basis
Your consent, when you fill in one of our forms. Our legitimate interest in contacting professionals in their professional capacity, when we write to you for the first time using publicly available academic data. Performance of a contract, when you hire a service.
Who else sees it
Nobody, as a rule. We share your details with another researcher only after you tell us to, and only the details you authorise. We do not sell data and we do not pass it to advertisers.
Our service providers handle data on our behalf: our own server for the forms database, Amazon Web Services (eu-west-3, Paris) for sending email, and IONOS for email hosting and the website.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete it, or until keeping it no longer serves any purpose. Where the law requires us to keep records, such as invoices, we keep them for as long as the law says.
Your rights
You can ask us for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and you can object to us writing to you. Write to info@synergium.net and we will act on it. Saying «do not write to me again» is enough: we add you to a suppression list and that is the end of it.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency, aepd.es.
Cookies
This site stores a language preference, created only when you choose a language from the globe in the header. That is all. We run no analytics, no advertising pixels and no third party tracking.
